After an incredible tenure with the organization, I am writing to inform you that as of December 31, 2016, I have officially stepped down as Executive Director of UCP Wheels for Humanity. It has been my distinct pleasure to serve this organization for the past 12 years, and I am extremely proud to say that I take this step at a time when the organization has never been stronger. We have a dedicated Board, a talented and committed staff, a powerful set of supporters, and programs which are changing lives on a more impactful level, every day.
Over my many years with UCP Wheels, I have been privileged to witness our amazing work first-hand and have been able to help guide a transition to a more effective and impactful model. Today the organization has a team of over 40 staff across five countries, who work tirelessly every day, to bring mobility and independence to thousands of deserving individuals each year. It has been the one of the greatest joys of my life to work with a team so committed to making a difference in this world.
Though this organization will forever be close to my heart, I believe now is the time for me to move on to new challenges and let a new leader take UCP Wheels into the future.
As I step down from this life-changing organization, I would like to say thank you! To every person who has supported our work, volunteered, attended our events and worked on our staff: you have made the last 12 years wonderful for me and more importantly for the hundreds of thousands of people across the globe who have benefitted from our work.
You will hear from our CEO and my mentor Ron Cohen very soon with more information about my successor, but for now let me say that the future for UCP Wheels for Humanity is incredibly bright.
My best wishes and sincere thanks,
