From all of us here at UCP Wheels for Humanity, we hope that you and your family are staying well and healthy during the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.
Our staff members based in Los Angeles have joined our colleagues around the world in working remotely for the time being. We are grateful to our staff for making a seamless transition to remote work. We will continue to monitor global, federal, and state recommendations to ensure the health of our employees as we navigate this complicated time.
Our shipping warehouse in China is still operational and we continue to ship and provide wheelchairs to our service partners around the world.
As the pandemic spreads across the globe and health systems in low- and middle-income countries begin to reach capacity, we know that people with disabilities are particularly vulnerable and in need of support. We are exploring additional ways to expand programming to address this need, and we will update you as we further develop our response.
Lastly, we wanted to thank you for your ongoing support and commitment to our mission. We know that the economic implications of this crisis will be felt around the globe for a long time to come, but we are certain that we will persevere through this moment together.
Thank you again for your ongoing support of our work.
David Murphy, Executive Director
