UCP Wheels for Humanity is proud to announce that we have received a $25,000 grant from the Witherbee Foundation to support our Volunteer Program. This grant will go towards providing a meaningful, impactful volunteer experience for hundreds of community members, including people with disabilities, in 2015. The Witherbee Foundation has been generously supporting the Volunteer Program since 2001. “We have an incredible group of dedicated volunteers who are selflessly devoted to helping people with disabilities around the world that they will never meet. Thanks to the Witherbee Foundation, UCP Wheels for Humanity is able to provide meaningful experiences for a wide range of volunteers,” said UCP Wheels Executive Director Michael Allen.
In 2015, thousands of people around the world will receive wheelchairs from UCP Wheels for Humanity, giving them the chance to go to school, get a job, and participate in their community instead of being confined and isolated in their homes. We could not serve these individuals without the help of our local volunteers’ hard work refurbishing wheelchairs to ensure the highest quality products reach those who need them most. The Volunteer Program is changing many lives this year, at home and abroad. Thank you, Witherbee Foundation, for helping us make it possible!
