BETTER “ACCESS” – UCP WHEELS PARTICIPATES IN STARTUP MEETINGS FOR EXCITING JOINT PROJECT
July 3, 2014

UCP Wheels was honored to have Ambassador Kristie Kenney attend our wheelchair clinic at Sirindhorn National Medical Rehabilitation Center in Bangkok, where we’ve been working alongside their therapist staff this week to provide 66 wheelchairs, including 14 custom-made ‘foam-in-place’ seating systems, as well as 80 other ambulatory aids especially for children. The 14 custom wheelchairs are for children with extremely involved disabilities who need seating systems that are molded to their bodies.

Next week, we’ll be up in Chiang Mai, providing the Srisangwan School for Children with Disabilities with 68 wheelchairs, including active children’s sports wheelchairs. We worked with the Srisangwan School in 2009 as part of a US State Department sports program, in which we brought paralympic athletes and coaches to train the school’s staff on adaptive sports, so we’re really excited to be back there!
