This week, our Executive Director Michael Allen spoke at the Asia-Europe Meeting (ASEM) Expert Meeting on Global Cooperation on Assistive Technology in Beijing, China. The event centered around how nations can collaborate on disability issues and challenges that affect their citizens. The event’s theme—“Breaking Barriers for Inclusive Development”—focused on assistive devices and technology, vocational training and employment for, as well as sharing best practices, and assessing the current status of work being done to help people with disabilities. Chinese Premier Li Keqiang and German Chancellor Angela Merkel both spoke at the event.
