Position Summary – CLASP II Global Business Development Manager

Project Description

The USAID-funded CLASP II (Coordinating Logistics for Assistive Technology Supply & Provision) project is the second phase of the successfully completed CLASP program, which resulted in the establishment of a user-friendly distribution system that enables suppliers, service provider organizations, and buyers to deliver mobility devices that best suit users’ individual needs faster and more efficiently. The goal of CLASP II is to improve the availability of and access to appropriate assistive technology in less resourced settings and to promote quality service provision through the following objectives:

  • Streamline and expand business operations to approach sustainability
  • Provide assistive technology through qualified CLASP Service Partners and other service providers
  • Expand the CLASP product range and increase industry collaboration

Through CLASP II, UCP Wheels for Humanity (UCPW) will streamline logistical operations and expand marketing and outreach to prospective buyers including NGOs, governments, and commercial wheelchair distributors. The marketing outreach will ensure that all current and prospective buyers have access to an extensive range of multi-language product support and promotion materials and that they understand the critical importance of donating or providing assistive devices that are appropriate for the unique needs of individual users. UCPW will also offer a wider range of products to buyers, increase the number of vetted CLASP Service Partners, and work with a broader constituency of sector stakeholders.
